Modern Times
Design and make 2010

The project is inspired by the motion picture “Modern Times”
featuring Charlie Chaplin. In the movie, the poor worker struggles

with the pace of the factory, Here, man is instead the one in

control of the factory.

“Pulse” is the main piece, a docking station for an Ipod or Iphone.

It plays music through two speakers hidden in the black monolith

structure. The crank controls the volyme.

“Ash” is a paraffin lamp and represents the heat in the factory.

“Instant” is a series of table clocks.

Co-designed and made with Johannes Tjernberg in 2010.
